Jenny Yang, Ph.D., Director
Jenny Yang, a 2019 National Academy of Inventors Fellow, is the Director of ATIF and Associate Director of the Center For Diagnostics and Therapeutics. She is a Regents' Professor and Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry at Georgia State. Yang's current research is focused on protein-based MRI contrast agents that are safer, more sensitive and provide the first non-invasive detection of early-stage liver disease including liver fibrosis and cancer.
Khan Hekmatyar, Ph.D., Senior MRI Scientist
Dr. Khan Hekmatyar is a senior scientist at the Advanced Translational Brain Imaging facility at GSU. He was previously working as MRI physicist at the University of Delaware before coming to GSU. He received PhD in Physical Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi. He has several years of experience in investigating tumor physiology and metabolism using a variety of advanced MRI and multinuclear MRI methods in preclinical settings. His current research interests include Neuroscience, Brain MRI, studying neurodegenerative diseases in preclinical and clinical subjects.
